Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust seeks qualified doctors for the Bank Service in Accident & Emergency. The role offers a flexible schedule, with shifts ranging from single shifts to extended posts, including evenings, weekends and on‑call availability, depending on demand. Bank work is on an ‘as and when’ basis with no guaranteed hours.
Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison between nurses, other clinicians, patients and relatives to support safe care
- Attend and participate in board rounds, ward rounds and other daily clinical activities
- Provide appropriate workplace supervision to other staff as requested
- Maintain high standards of professionalism, especially with regard to documentation
- Arrive on time for booked shifts and be available from the arranged start time
- Attend local induction when working in new areas
- Comply with all Trust policies, including upholding its values and behaviours
- Carry out other duties commensurate with the post/grade as advised by the speciality clinical lead
Designated Body Requirement
Bank doctors must be listed with a designated body on the GMC for employment on the MSE NHS bank. For doctors already registered with an agency, that agency remains the designated body.
Person Specification
- GMC registration – Specialist Register
- Experience at Consultant Grade or Locum Consultant Grade
