Summary



  • This role involves managing and coordinating Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The position is crucial in ensuring that these individuals receive appropriate, high-quality provision that meets their holistic needs and supports positive outcomes. The role emphasises a person-centered, collaborative approach with families, schools, and partner agencies.


Responsibilities



  • Manage a caseload of children and young people with SEND, serving as the primary contact for families, schools, and professionals.

  • Lead the development, review, and maintenance of EHCPs, ensuring compliance with the SEND Code of Practice.

  • Coordinate statutory assessments and ensure all processes are completed within required timescales.

  • Collaborate with education, health, and social care professionals to deliver holistic, person-centered plans.

  • Arrange, attend, and chair EHCP planning meetings, annual reviews, and multi-agency meetings as needed.

  • Ensure the voice of the child or young person is central to all planning and decision-making.

  • Negotiate and agree on suitable educational placements with schools, colleges, and providers.

  • Maintain oversight of children and young people receiving Exceptional Needs Grant (ENG), working with schools to ensure needs are met.

  • Experience working within SEND services or a related environment.

  • Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and Children and Families Act 2014.

  • Experience drafting EHCPs and managing statutory assessment and review processes.

  • Experience working with children, young people, and families in a person-centered approach.

  • Experience facilitating multi-agency working and partnership engagement.


Essential Qualifications



  • Degree-level qualification (or equivalent experience) in education, social care, or a related field.

  • Evidence of continuous professional development in SEND or a relevant area.


Additional Information



  • Working hours: 36 hours per week.

  • Location: 5 Pancras Square, London, Camden, N1C 4AG, United Kingdom.

  • Work pattern: 60% in Camden community, 3 days in the office with Wednesday as the anchor day.
