Founded in 1978, Clark Contracts Ltd is a privately owned main contractor with several operating divisions; Construction, Fit Out, Refurbishment, Retail, Housing and Maintenance. ​We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join the business. As Estimator, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with an experienced team, reporting directly to the Estimating Manager. Collaborate with the Bid team including procurement, design, and project management, to develop comprehensive bid proposals. Lead the preparation of detailed and accurate cost estimates for large-scale construction projects, typically valued at £10 million+. Identify and analyse potential risks and opportunities associated with project estimates and ensure these are adequately addressed in the proposal. Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing, ensuring all costs are validated. Assist in post-tender negotiations to ensure projects are commercially viable and in line with the company’s objectives. Identify compliant Value Engineering opportunities that provide our Client with Value for Money whilst maintaining quality aspirations for their project. Take an active role in our Supply Chain Management Initiative, building strong relationships with subcontractors to drive winning partnerships. A proven track record in a similar estimating role within the contracting world, with a focus on winning tenders that align with the companies commercial needs and risk profile. Proven experience in estimating large-scale construction projects, with a solid understanding of building methods, materials, and UK construction standards. Strong knowledge of estimation software (e.g., Experience working with SBCC, NEC3/3, JCT contracts, or other relevant forms of contract.
