Senior Vehicle Repair Technician

Ystrad Service Centre Ltd is a growing independent garage with a strong reputation for advanced diagnostics, electrical fault finding, routine servicing, repairs, and MOT testing.
We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Vehicle Repair Technician to join our forward-thinking workshop team.
What you’ll be doing:
• Carrying out detailed vehicle inspections and accurately recording findings
• Performing servicing, maintenance, and complex repairs to a high standard
• Replacing timing chains, belts, and other major components in line with manufacturer specifications
• Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using diagnostic equipment
• Supporting and mentoring junior technicians where appropriate
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to maintain an efficient workshop environment
• Participating in ongoing training to stay up to date with vehicle technology
• Contributing to continuous improvement across workshop operations
What we’re looking for:
• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Repair and Maintenance (or equivalent)
• Minimum 10 years’ experience as a qualified vehicle technician
• Experience using manufacturer repair systems• Strong organisational and planning skills
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
• Main dealer experience at a senior level
Desirable experience:
• Premium brands such as JLR, BMW, or VAG
• OE systems including Pathfinder, Topix, ODIS, and ISTA
• Workshop software such as AutoData, HaynesPro, and Garage Hive
• Four-wheel alignment using Hunter equipment
• Qualified MOT Tester (Class 4, 5L and 7)
