We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves designing and implementing robust data solutions, including Data Lakes and Data Warehouses, and working closely with various teams to support data-driven decision-making across the organisation. Day-to-day of the role:

  • Design and implement Data Lake and Data Warehouse solutions to support business intelligence, reporting, and analytics.
  • Develop Data Models using Data Vault and Dimensional modelling methods to ensure scalability and performance.
  • Implement automated, reusable, and efficient batch and streaming data pipelines.
  • Collaborate with Governance and Quality teams to optimise metadata management, data cataloguing, and data lineage.
  • Work closely with data specialists and technicians across departments, such as Actuarial and Finance, to meet their data presentation and visualisation needs using tools like Power BI.
  • Build secure solutions for managing Personal and Sensitive data, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in Data Engineering or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala for building data pipelines and automating data workflows.
  • Expertise in SQL and familiarity with ETL tools.
  • Knowledge of AI and Machine Learning applications in data processing.
  • Experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or QlikView.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships across the organisation.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment using DevOps methods.
