Job Description:

The team works collaboratively across design, engineering, and manufacturing to deliver bespoke and platform machinery to a global client base.

The Role: As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver electrical systems for machinery projects from concept through to commissioning and after-market support. This role is ideal for an engineer with hands-on experience in industrial electrical systems, looking to contribute to innovative automation projects and expand their expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver electrical systems for custom and platform machinery projects.
  • Produce wiring diagrams, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and technical documentation.
  • Support validation, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and on-site installation.
  • Collaborate with Mechanical and Software engineers to troubleshoot and resolve machine issues.
  • Ensure compliance with European directives (Low Voltage, Machinery, EMC) and functional safety standards.
  • Assist in project procurement and liaise with suppliers.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial electrical systems, control panels, and machine wiring.
  • AutoCAD Electrical or similar CAD software proficiency.
  • Knowledge of European directives and IEC (phone number removed).
  • Understanding of motion control technologies (servo drives, inverters).
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with special-purpose machinery or regulated industries (pharmaceuticals/FMCG).
  • Beckhoff / Siemens control systems knowledge.
  • Functional safety design experience (ISO (phone number removed) or equivalent).
  • Basic programming and familiarity with mechanical or pneumatic systems.
