Bank Doctor (Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust)
We are looking to recruit suitably qualified doctors to work across specialties, ranging from a single shift to an extended post; with evening, weekend and on‑call shifts available (depending on shift availability).
As this is Bank work, it is on an ‘as and when’ basis with no guaranteed hours.
Responsibilities
- Liase between nurses, other clinicians, patients, relatives to support safe care.
- Attend and participate in board rounds, ward rounds and other related daily activities.
- Provide appropriate workplace supervision to other staff as and when needed.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism, especially in relation to documentation.
- Arrive on time for the booked shift and be available for work from the arranged start time.
- Attend local induction as appropriate when working in new areas.
- Comply with Trust policies, including upholding the trust’s values and behaviours.
- Perform other duties commensurate with the post/grade as advised by the speciality clinical team.
Designation & Eligibility
For Bank doctors subject to Approved Practice Settings (APS) you must already possess a designated body on your GMC for employment on the MSE NHS bank. If you are already registered with an Agency, that agency remains the Designated Body and Responsible Officer.
To be connected to the Trust as a GMC approved designated body you must work a minimum of 12 shifts per month.
