We’re working with a well-established industrial manufacturer based in Cambridgeshire who are looking to strengthen their commercial team with the addition of a Technical Sales Engineer.
This is a varied, customer-facing role that blends engineering knowledge with a consultative sales approach. It suits someone who enjoys solving technical problems, working closely with customers, and supporting international business growth.
This role is hybrid but you must be within a reasonable commutable distance to the Cambridgeshire office – initial training will be primarily on-site.
You’ll be responsible for both winning new business and managing established key accounts, with regular international travel for product demonstrations, training, and on-site technical support.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive sales growth in line with agreed targets
- Develop new business opportunities across international markets
- Manage and grow key customer accounts
- Deliver product demonstrations at customer sites overseas
- Provide installation support, on-site training, and technical guidance
- Offer ongoing technical support to customers post-sale
- Work closely with internal engineering and production teams to ensure customer requirements are met
- Build and maintain strong relationships with international stakeholders
- Support wider business development activity and increase market presence
Candidate Profile
- Engineering background with hands-on technical experience
- Previous B2B sales experience within industrial products, machinery, components, or similar
- Comfortable in a customer-facing, consultative role
- Strong practical problem-solving ability with a solid engineering mindset
- Experience working with international customers or willingness to undertake regular travel
- Confident communicator who can engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Desirable Experience
- Field-based technical sales or applications engineering background
- Exposure to capital equipment or industrial instrumentation
- Experience working with distributors or export markets
What’s on Offer
