About the Opportunity
The Civil/Structural team specialises in solving the most complex and technically demanding structural engineering problems. Each project is unique, typically involving dynamic load effects from extreme hazards such as seismic, blast and impact. The role focuses on advanced analysis beyond code checks, including ductility, nonlinear buckling and soil‑structure interaction. The team works collaboratively from first principles, researching methods, challenging assumptions and delivering rigorous, independently validated solutions. This position is based in Winnersh or Glasgow, with other UK office locations considered.
Responsibilities
- Lead inter‑discipline project planning, delivery and financial performance.
- Ensure technical quality and excellence of project deliverables.
- Provide technical and professional guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians.
- Contribute to business and quality management systems.
- Promote operational and design safety and foster a good safety culture.
Qualifications
- Must achieve and maintain a Security Check (SC) clearance. Eligibility depends on UK nationality, dual nationality, or other security requirements.
- Good all‑round technical design expertise using British and international standards, and/or Eurocodes.
- Proven ability to manage projects and prepare project deliverables, including maintaining quality, budget, programme and resources.
- Experience in preparing bids and proposals, and building client relationships.
- Accredited MEng degree in Civil Engineering or a similar qualification, and a Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer status is preferred.
