AWE has opportunities for highly skilled Senior Metrologists to contribute to some of the UK’s most critical and technically engaging programmes. We are looking for experts who excel in precision measurement and enjoy working with complex geometries in fast‑paced, high‑stakes environments. Responsibilities
- Programming CMMs using the Quindos programming language.
- Measuring critical components using high precision CMMs and other metrology equipment.
- Managing workload through the lab, including workflow planning and scheduling, Workload Tasking, Process sign‑off and problem report management.
- Ensuring equipment availability, coordinating maintenance and calibration.
- Ensuring safe and secure operations in the Metrology laboratory.
- Managing personal 5S adherence in the laboratory.
Additional Capabilities
- Program CMMs and other metrology equipment using Quindos and software such as PC DMIS, applying Cartesian and 3D polar co‑ordinate systems.
- Run measurement programs for complex components, including program transfer and prove‑out for operational areas.
- Plan and manage workloads, ensuring timely completion of task reviews and resolution of problem reports.
- Support forward equipment planning across metrology and inspection areas, with a focus on Metrology Development.
- Maintain high laboratory standards through personal 5S activities.

- Package: £49,480 – £78,200 (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience), 9‑day working fortnight – meaning you get every other Friday off work, in addition to 270 hours of annual leave.
