  • nA hands-on, proactive approach to team work.n

  • nAbility to work as a member of a team and on their own.n

  • nGood written and spoken English – to a level capable of accurately recording notes and communicating effectively with people. n

  • nCompletion of the Care Certificate for which training is providedn
  • n

  • nCompliance with all training, safeguarding and regulatory requirements relating to the provision of care  for vulnerable adults for which you will receive detailed guidance and trainingn

Main purpose of the position

nnnnn

    n

  • nThe role of the Support Worker is to provide opportunities for client users to build friendships, develop social skills and increase service user’s confidence.n
  • n

  • nTo undertake the safe transportation of all passengers.n
  • n

  • nTo have regard for the general welfare of passengers and to promote their safety.n
  • n

  • nPromote and encourage independence. n
  • n

  • nTo ensure that all the support needs of service users are met in full, in accordance with the care plan.n
  • n

  • nTo record accurate, legible records of the care given in accordance with the care plan.n
  • n

  • nTo report any change of circumstances to a service user’s health or environment to your Line Manager. n
  • n

  • nTo preserve the privacy, confidentiality and dignity of individual service users and demonstrate an understanding of their rights. n
  • n

  • nTo work”with” service users to achieve outcomes, rather than work “for” them. n
  • n

  • nTo be committed and dedicated in assisting client users to achieve their personal goals.n
  • n

  • nSupporting service users to regain life skills through group activities.n
  • n

  • nAssisting with Dressing and undressingn
  • n

  • nContinence managementn
  • n

  • nAssisting with toileting, catheter care, stoma care and emptying commodesn
  • n

  • nCompletion of relevant medical log and reporting any inconsistenciesn
  • n

  • nMonitoring food and drink intake when neededn
  • n

  • nAssisting with feeding if and when requiredn
  • n

  • nGeneral cleaning of the area used by the service user n
  • n

  • nTo comply with all company policies and proceduresn
  • n

  • nTo partake, as required by the Manager in the induction programme and attend all refresher courses and regular in house training courses. n
  • n

  • nTo participate in staff, team and quality management reviews as directed by the manager.n
  • n

  • nTo complete all documentation related to vehicle operations as required.n
  • n

  • nTo wear protective clothing and PPE as issued.n
  • n

  • nTo ensure compliance with safe practice in respect of all passenger particularly wheelchair users.n
  • n

  • nTo ensure compliance with safe practice in respect of all passenger particularly wheelchair users.n

  • nTo maintain and operate vehicles in accordance with policies, procedures and issued Guidance.n
  • n

  • nTo ensure the cleanliness of all vehicles is maintained to a high standardn
  • n

  • nTo be accountable for all Transport vehicles.n
  • n

  • nTo alert the Transport Manager of any issues or concerns that may affect service provision and safe operation of vehicles.n
  • n

  • nTo alert the Transport Manager management of any health and safety issues affecting safe operation of transportn
  • n

  • nTo adhere to key operational procedures at all timesn
  • n

  • nTo undertake all training commensurate with the postn
  • n

  • nTo be accountable for your working practice and take responsibility for maintaining and improving your knowledge and skills.n
  • n

  • nTo undertake any reasonable request or other duty deemed appropriate by the managern
  • n

  • nCheck equipment on the Bus daily is in good working order, complete safety checks.  Report to Ops Manager if any concerns or defects found. n
  • n

  • nRecord Mileage Daily. n
  • n

  • nComplete Driving license checks annually and inform Ops Manager if there are any concerns. n
  • n

  • nAll  Staff to read and sign the Health  and Safety Policy. n
