FUNCTION
Maintains pens by utilizing loader, scraper, or farm tractor to remove accumulated manure, fill in holes, and groom pen.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify pens to be cleaned through communication with management and receiving personnel.
- Maintain road surfaces, bunk pads, pens, and alleys by filling in holes, controlling dust, and removing accumulated manure; take care to leave hard pack intact while also maintaining pen slope and grade.
- Load trucks with cattle manure for application on farm ground.
- Ensure operation of equipment by completing servicing requirements specified by the manager (may include: fueling, checking fluid levels, checking filters, greasing, and cleaning equipment).
- Comply with all applicable safety rules and policies.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Expected to demonstrate understanding of Company policies, adapt to changes in the work environment, exhibit sound and accurate judgment, observe safety and security procedures, and report potentially unsafe conditions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Regularly exposed to airborne particles.
- Frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Climb 4 to 5 steep steps to board or off-board equipment several times per day.
- Operate heavy equipment requiring good eyesight, head and neck movement, and upper body movement.
- Leg and feet movement for brake, clutch, and accelerator operation.
- Good depth perception for pen maintenance and loading trucks.
- Walk on uneven surfaces in all weather conditions.
- Lift, push, pull, carry, sit, stand, jump, kneel, bend, twist, reach, climb, and work around livestock.
