Job overview
We are looking for a Catering Supervisor to work in the busy and friendly catering team at Penrith Hospital. The working hours are between 7.30 am and 6.30 pm, working shifts Monday to Sunday. We are looking for someone with exceptional customer service, who will work as part of a small team, providing and maintaining an efficient catering service. As the Supervisor you would be responsible for ensuring the service runs smoothly from devising the menu to ordering the food.
Main duties of the job
- Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Catering Service within a café & Ward
- Prepare food and work with Community Catering Manager to devise menus
- Ensure food and hygiene standards are met, ensuring adherence to all Food Safety Regulations and Legislation
- Follow HACCP and COSHH guidelines
- Report faults and hazards to the appropriate person
- Keep records for traceability
- Train staff and ensure mandatory training is complete
- Deal with any issues arising within the catering department
- Cashing up at the end of the day
- Order food and work with the Community Catering Manager to devise menus
- Manage stock and order from approved suppliers

Qualifications
- Supervisory Qualification (ILM 3 level 3) or equivalent
- Level 2 Food Hygiene certification
- Maths and English qualifications
- Level 3 Qualification in Food/Cooking
- Level 3 Food Safety certification
