About the Role

Salary: Grade 9, Point 19-25: £28,199 to £31,983 per annum pro rata (pay award pending), based on full‑time hours. Actual salary will be based on working hours and scale point.

Contract: Permanent, part‑time or full‑time hours considered, 39 weeks a year (term time plus inset days).

We are seeking a resilient and proactive Behaviour Support – Senior Learning Support Mentor to join our school and play a key role in maintaining high standards of behaviour and supporting a positive climate for learning across our school. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is committed to helping students make positive choices, reflect on their behaviour and remain engaged in learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support students removed from lessons through the school’s centralised behaviour system.
  • Maintain a calm, purposeful and disciplined learning environment.
  • Build positive and productive relationships with students.
  • Support students with learning tasks and monitor completion of work.
  • Liaise with teaching staff to ensure appropriate work is provided and returned.
  • Maintain accurate records, including attendance and safeguarding concerns.
  • Communicate with parents/carers where required.
  • Support the administration of the school’s behaviour systems.
  • Assist with after‑school detentions when required.
  • Promote inclusion, equality, safeguarding and the school’s values at all times.

Further Information

The salary quoted is the annual salary for the position at the time of advert. The salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments and will be adjusted at the start of employment and again if leaving part way through the school year to ensure the correct salary is received for the work completed in an academic year.

This role is UK‑based and your right to work will need to be established as part of the appointment process.
