Grounds Maintenance Operative

Location: Green Park, Reading.

Salary: Above Real Living Wage.

Contract Type: Flexible with consistent full-time availability.

Typical Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday.

We’re looking for reliable and skilled Grounds Maintenance Operatives to support the delivery of high‑quality grounds services across Green Park, Reading. What you’ll do

  • Carry out routine and specialist grounds maintenance tasks including grass cutting, strimming, hedge trimming, spraying, pruning, and litter picking.
  • Operate a range of equipment and machinery safely and effectively.
  • Maintain tools, vehicles, and PPE to a high standard and report any defects.
  • Record completed work using mobile technology (training provided).
  • Work collaboratively with your team to meet quality and performance targets.

What we’re looking for

  • Previous experience in a similar grounds maintenance role.
  • A good understanding of health and safety procedures and safe equipment use.
  • Full UK driving licence (preferred).
  • Spraying qualifications (PA1 & PA6) and/or horticultural certification (desirable).
  • A proactive, professional attitude and ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
