Job Description:

We’re seeking an experienced individual to help grow our CIC from a volunteer‑led project into a sustainable social enterprise. You’ll play a key role in scaling our Nature & Wellbeing Activity Walks, increasing income, with potential to progress into a leadership role.

What difference will you make?

This role is vital to our next stage of growth. With the right support, we aim to

  • Build a financially sustainable CIC
  • Create paid opportunities for volunteers
  • Expand our services and community reach
  • Develop a scalable and resilient business model

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone proactive, knowledgeable, and ready to get involved.

  • Strong understanding of Community Interest Companies, including compliance and governance.
  • Experience growing or supporting a business, CIC, or social enterprise.
  • Knowledge of income generation, sales, and sustainable business models.
  • Experience with successful grant applications and funding strategies.
  • Ability to think strategically while also taking practical action.
  • Ideally has set up or worked within a CIC or similar organisation.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with a founder in a small, evolving organisation.
  • Passion for community wellbeing and social impact.

Remote

What will you be doing?

We are looking for a proactive, hands‑on volunteer to work closely with the Director to drive the growth and sustainability of Wandering Emotions CIC. We are seeking someone who will actively contribute to developing and implementing ideas.

Key responsibilities include

  • Working collaboratively with the Director to shape and deliver a clear growth and sustainability strategy.
  • Advising on and supporting CIC compliance and operations, including awareness of Companies House requirements, director payments, and key deadlines.
  • Exploring opportunities for partnerships with local organisations, community groups, and stakeholders.
  • Supporting the transition from a fully volunteer‑led model to one that can sustain paid roles.

You will be working directly with the Director in a small, early‑stage CIC, which means there is a high level of flexibility, collaboration, and opportunity to shape how the organisation develops. As we are currently volunteer‑led, this role is ideal for someone who is comfortable working in a start‑up style environment and can take initiative.

This is a unique opportunity to play a meaningful role in building a social enterprise from the ground up, with your input directly influencing how we grow, scale, and create impact in the community.

There is potential for this role to develop into a longer‑term leadership or Board position, subject to mutual fit and organisational needs.
