HGV Class 1 Driver (C+E) – Northampton

Temp to Perm Opportunity | Monday-Friday | Full-Time Hours | Days or Nights or 4 on / 4 off

We are currently recruiting for experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers based in Northampton to join a busy and well-established logistics operation.

This role offers ongoing, full-time work with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

• Days – £17.00ph PAYE or £19.05ph PAYE Advanced (Including holiday pay)
• Nights – £18.00ph PAYE or £20.17ph PAYE Advanced (Including holiday pay)

Shift Details

• Various options available including Days, Nights or 4 on/4 off
• 12-hour shifts (11 hours paid – 1-hour unpaid break)
• Various start times (flexibility required)
• Monday to Friday (Days or Nights)
• 4 on / 4 off days

Your Responsibilities

• Driving HGV Class 1 (C+E) vehicles safely and efficiently
• Completing deliveries and collections to schedule
• Performing daily vehicle checks and reporting defects
• Ensuring full compliance with tachograph and driving regulations
• Using digital systems/apps to complete delivery tasks
• Completing all paperwork accurately and on time
• Providing a professional and customer-focused service
• Communicating effectively with transport planners and managers
• Following all health & safety procedures

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence
• Driver CPC & Digital Tachograph Card
• Good knowledge of UK driving laws and regulations
• Previous Class 1 driving experience
• Flexible approach to start times and workload
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude

Desirable (but not essential)

• Experience with Transport Management Systems (TMS)
• Distribution or trunking experience
• Experience with multi-drop or changing delivery schedules
