An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Screening Officer to join the North East Bowel Cancer Screening Programme Hub which supports Bowel Cancer Screening Services for a population of 9 million.
The role includes administrative, laboratory and call centre functions, including the processing of returned screening samples, acting as the first point of contact on the national Freephone helpline, and helping to produce significant quantities of outgoing mail (invitations, reminders, test packs and results) using bespoke software and complex mailroom equipment as part of the call and re‑call of the national screening programme.
Main duties of the job
The post‑holder will work as part of the integrated administrative and laboratory based team, working to meet the national targets and standards set by the NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Programme (NHS BCSP).
Qualifications
- GCSE Grades A‑C to include Mathematics and English and NVQ Level 2 or equivalent experience
- NVQ Level 3 in Office Administration or equivalent
Knowledge
- Understanding of office administration functions.
- Knowledge of NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Programme
