Job Description:

ASA Recruitment’s client, a Public Sector organisation with offices in both Edinburgh and Glasgow are currently looking to recruit an Admin Assistant to work on a hybrid basis, for an initial 4 month contract starting ASAP on a rate of £15.50/hour to £16.30/hour PAYE based on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting administrative stages of several processes for example Disclosure Checks via the PVG (Protection of Vulnerable Groups) scheme, Skilled Worker Sponsorship, Recruitment and Onboarding and payroll processing.
  • Processing and entering a high volume of data into various systems and databases accurately and efficiently.
  • Conducting thorough and accurate identity checks for a variety of workstreams or purposes, ensuring that all required documentation and verification procedures are completed in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining and updating records and files as required.
  • Assisting with other administrative tasks as required.

  • Experience working within frontline customer service.
  • Experience of working both independently and as part of a team, whilst balancing a range of competing priorities.

  • Proven expertise in using Microsoft 365, in particular Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
  • Fast and accurate keyboard skills.
  • Ability to meet the travel requirements of the post.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • HNC in business administration or SCQF Level 7 equivalence via Professional Development Awards; Higher Education Certificates; Modern Apprenticeships; and SVQs.
  • Experience of working within an office support service environment.
  • Experience of working with large volumes of data.
  • Experience of supporting team meetings, webinars, events and/or conferences online.
  • Experience of working within a Health, Social Care or educational environment.
  • Working knowledge of online service desks such as Jira.
  • Understanding of the application of GDPR to the storage and use of personal information and data privacy.
  • Ability to respond to confidential and sensitive situations with confidence and discretion, utilising tact, diplomacy, and persuasion skills when necessary.
