We are looking for a Catering Supervisor to work in the busy and friendly catering team at Penrith Hospital.

Working hours: 7.30am to 6.30pm, Monday to Sunday.

Main duties of the job

• Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Catering Service within a café & Ward.
• Prepare food and work with the Community Catering Manager to devise menus.
• Ensure food and hygiene standards are met and adhere to all Food Safety Regulations and Legislation.
• Follow HACCP and COSHH.
• Report faults and hazards to the appropriate person.
• Keep records for traceability.
• Train staff and ensure mandatory training is completed.
• Deal with any issues arising within the catering department.
• Cash up at the end of the day.
• Order food and work with the Community Catering Manager to devise menus.
• Manage stock and order from approved suppliers.

Person Specification

Experience

• Experience in a Catering Supervisory role.
• Food ordering.
• NHS experience.

Qualifications

• Supervisory Qualification (ILM Level 3) or equivalent.
• Level 2 Food Hygiene.
• Mathematics and English qualifications.
• Level 3 Qualification in Food/Cooking.
• Level 3 Food Safety.

Knowledge

• Food Safety Regulations.
• Equality issues.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multi-task.

Personal Circumstances

• Flexibility in working hours.
• Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
• Ability to deal with complaints or queries.
