Portuguese Teaching Assistant (EAL)

Start Date: September 2026
Reeson Education is supporting a large mainstream secondary school in Lambeth, South London that requires an enthusiastic Portuguese‑speaking Teaching Assistant (EAL) to join their team from September 2026 on a full‑time basis.
The successful candidate will be a fluent Portuguese speaker with prior secondary school Teaching Assistant experience, or a graduate looking to pursue a career as a qualified teacher in the future.
The role of the EAL Teaching Assistant is to support students with moderate learning difficulties and encourage learning across a variety of subjects and year groups. Candidates should be able to demonstrate successful experience in supporting students with EAL.

The successful candidate will:
- Be a fluent Portuguese speaker
- Supervise and provide particular support for students identified with EAL, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
- Establish constructive relationships with students and interact with them according to individual needs
- Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment, in accordance with lesson plans, and assist with students’ learning
- Use strategies, in liaison with the teacher, to support students in achieving learning goals
- Assist with the planning of learning activities
