We are currently seeking a diligent and detail-orientated Cleanroom Operative to join our team.

Job Details

Location: Darwen

Job Type: Permanent, 37 hours a week, working a 4-day week over a 5-day operational week.

Hourly Rate: Starting at £12.75.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a cleanroom environment to assemble, inspect, and package aerospace components, following detailed work instructions and quality standards.
  • Handle materials and components using appropriate cleanroom techniques, including the use of gloves, gowns, masks, and other protective gear.
  • Perform visual inspections of components for defects, contamination, or damage, using tools as required.
  • Clean and maintain workstations, tools, and equipment to meet cleanroom cleanliness standards.
  • Adhere to strict protocols for entering and exiting the cleanroom, including proper gowning procedures and airlock usage in line with FOD.
  • Work with quality control and engineering teams to resolve any issues related to component cleanliness or assembly.
  • Participate in regular cleanroom training sessions and stay up to date with the latest cleanroom procedures and best practices.
  • Assist in the continuous improvement of cleanroom processes to enhance efficiency and product quality.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations specific to cleanroom operations.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a cleanroom environment is preferable but not essential, in the aerospace, or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform repetitive tasks with precision.
  • Familiarity with cleanroom protocols and contamination control practices.
  • Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions, diagrams, and technical documents.
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for handling small and delicate components.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and work in a cleanroom suit.
