Job Summary
An Inspection Operative is responsible for examining goods, shipments, and documentation to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. The role involves checking inbound and outbound cargo, identifying damages or discrepancies, supporting customs or security processes where required, and maintaining clear records. Inspection Operatives help ensure smooth supply‑chain operations, minimise risk, and uphold service and compliance standards.
Schedule
4 days on 4 days off nights.
Responsibilities
- Operational / tactical duties
- Loading and unloading lorries including MHE
- Ensuring the correct handling of all client products at all stages within the facility whilst remaining compliant with manual handling procedures and health and safety legislation.
- Undertaking manual and/or electronic reporting requirements as requested
- Work with stakeholders to support the inspection process
- Updating the PINC Yard Management System following training
- Carry out operational tasks to achieve departmental and site objectives
- Maintain the inspection environment following training
- Coshh awareness following training
- Participate and complete required training and development relevant to role
- Champion a health and safety culture
Qualifications
- A strong knowledge of Health & Safety at work
- Experience of working to agreed targets
- Deliver to tight deadlines in an organised and informed manner
- Achieve a high level of accuracy
- Work individually or as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- High attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Flexible approach to working hours, including covering holidays and absence when required
- Warehouse system experience
- Working ability regarding PC skills: Excel, Word, Outlook
