Fabricator / Welder – Top‑Tier Defence Programme (£19.97 per hour, Days)

We are recruiting a number of experienced Fabricator / Welder to support a leading, world‑class defence engineering organisation delivering long‑term, strategically critical programmes for the UK. This is a rare opportunity to join a top‑tier defence client operating at the highest standards of quality, safety and precision.

About the Role

You will work within a modern, high‑specification manufacturing facility as part of a skilled production team responsible for assembling and fabricating complex, safety‑critical components. The work supports a major defence programme with long‑term security, structured processes and exceptional engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Health & Safety Compliance — Maintain strict adherence to defence‑grade safety procedures and hazard controls.
  • Fabrication & Fitting — Fabricate and fit aluminium components using jigs, fixtures and approved engineering procedures.
  • Quality Assurance — Work from detailed drawings and carry out visual/NDT checks to ensure components meet exacting defence specifications.
  • Tooling & Measurement — Use hand tools and precision measuring instruments to maintain tight tolerances.
  • Welder Approvals — Maintain European welder qualification tests as required.
  • Fault Reporting — Report equipment issues through approved maintenance channels.
  • MRP Booking — Record hours and activities accurately using SAP.

What We’re Looking For

  • Recognised Time‑Served Apprenticeship
  • Aluminium MIG welding experience essential
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Strong background in heavy manufacturing or fabrication fitting
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and work to defence‑level quality standards
  • A disciplined, safety‑focused approach suitable for a high‑integrity environment
