Responsibilities

As an Early Help Worker within Lancashire’s Children’s Services Support Hub, you will play a key role in achieving positive outcomes for children and young people by ensuring they are safe, supported, and able to thrive. Working as part of a multi‑agency team, you will collaborate with partners to deliver a coordinated, whole‑family approach to early intervention across Lancashire.

You will manage a caseload of children, young people, and families requiring early help, carrying out assessments, gathering relevant information, and determining appropriate levels of support within the Continuum of Need. You will act as a central point for early help referrals, ensuring timely responses, signposting to appropriate services, and providing feedback where thresholds are not met.

The role involves engaging directly with families, gaining consent, and ensuring the voice and lived experience of the child are central to planning. You will also contribute to statutory processes, including initial responses to Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments (EHCNA), offering advice, signposting, and escalating safeguarding concerns as required.

Working in line with Lancashire safeguarding procedures, you will maintain accurate records, support multi‑agency decision‑making, and contribute to continuous service improvement through collaboration, training, and professional development.
