Sales Assistant

Overview

• Part‑time role, 6 hours a week, trading 7 days a week.• Requires flexibility to work weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.• Must be able to work Sundays – this is a Sunday Sales Assistant position.• Keyholder responsibilities when a manager is not on duty. Applicants must be 18+ years old.

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers, providing exceptional service and promoting the charity’s mission.
• Organise and merchandise donated stock creatively to maximise sales potential.
• Collaborate with the E‑Commerce team to support online sales.
• Assist with day‑to‑day operations, including till handling, stock management, and maintaining store presentation.
• Support volunteers on the shop floor and act as a point of contact in the absence of a manager.

Physical requirements: The role can be physically demanding and will involve moving a high volume of donation bags.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Previous retail experience is not essential; passion, energy, and a commitment to outstanding customer service are essential.
• Confident working within a team and comfortable guiding volunteers.
• Ability to work well under pressure and independently in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail in every task.
• Positive, creative, customer‑service focused, and passionate about sustainability.
• Technologically savvy – comfortable using a till, PC, smartphone, and e‑mail.
