‘Interventions’ is a function that was developed through Project Eleos and brings together Prevent and CT Nominal Management into a single capability. Interventions aims to streamline pathways (where legislation allows) to deliver access to both Pursue and Prevent interventions as appropriate. Through enhanced delivery of our current services, we will provide stronger visibility, better understanding and equal access to multi‑agency services, leading to effective risk mitigation for risk owners and tailored outcomes for individuals across the network.
Project Eleos began in summer 2022 with the scope to create a whole systems approach to how CTP and its partners deliver the right interventions, at the right time, using the right partners.
Job Summary
As Personal Assistant to the Interventions capability lead, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the National Interventions network and CTPHQ Interventions senior leadership in the delivery of The National Counter Terrorism Strategy. Activities include day‑to‑day management of the capability leads diary, proactive problem solving, responding to high volume queries, and liaising with key stakeholders including partners in CTP, wider Policing and other public sector bodies. The post holder will report to Sergeant Staff Officer and together form the Head of Interventions Private Office.
Key Tasks
- Provide comprehensive diary management, meeting coordination and travel arrangements for the Head of Interventions, ensuring seamless day‑to‑day operations.
- Maintain general oversight of the Head of Interventions overall business, particularly when out of office, thereby ensuring an ongoing awareness of key issues and activity.
- Collate and organise key papers on behalf of the Head of Interventions.
- Process key meeting papers for the Head of Interventions to ensure ongoing management of business.
- Plan and organise the Head of Interventions activities in line with priorities and deadlines, alongside the Staff Officer, managing a large number of requests and queries simultaneously with the ability to multi‑task.
- Take minutes and actions during meetings/capability boards/conferences led by Head of Interventions.
- Travel within the UK, including overnight stays during Interventions Capability Boards and Head of Interventions Regional Engagement Visits.
- Preserve proficiency in minute/action taking and managing trackers.
- Previous PA and/or Private Office experience would be beneficial but not essential.
- Have a good level of understanding and experience of policing, policing structures and processes, and current challenges facing the Police Service with particular reference to the Counter Terrorism environment, both in London and nationally.
- Experience dealing with highly protectively marked material.
- Experience working with national Policing, CT Partners or government departments.
Essential For The Role
All appointments are subject to the post holder satisfying the required level of security clearance at the time of appointment and for the duration of the attachment agreement. Failure to achieve such clearance or removal of such clearance will result in the termination of employment.
This post requires access to the most sensitive intelligence material on a daily basis. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Developed Vetting (DV) level before taking up the post.
This post requires British nationality (some dual nationals may be ineligible) and an Enhanced Security Check (eSC) / Developed Vetting (DV) clearance.
