Peripatetic Cook – (Mobile / Multi-Site Cook)

Salary: £14,891 – £15,381 per annum

22.5 hours per week, Term Time

An exciting opportunity has become available within Bridgend County Borough Council Catering Services department. Catering Services provide meals in primary, special and secondary schools across the borough for pupils and staff via a service level agreement with the individual schools.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate day‑to‑day activities within school kitchens, ensuring a quality service to all customers.
• Responsible for menu provision, portion control, preparation and cooking.
• Carry out administration duties and supervise staff.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate (essential, training will be provided).
• NVQ 2 or equivalent desirable.
• Working hours between 9.00am and 2.00pm, Monday to Friday, term time only.
• Ability to greet customers in Welsh (required).
• Enhanced with Children’s Barred list criminal records check by DBS (required).
• Protect children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.
