Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), Newcastle
Job Purpose
- Support Teaching and Learning: Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons, adapting resources to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with special educational needs.
- Lead Small Group Sessions: Plan and deliver focused interventions or activities to support pupils’ progress in line with curriculum objectives.
- Classroom Management: Supervise pupils during lessons or activities, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.
- Mentor and Guide Pupils: Provide pastoral support to promote pupils’ personal development, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing.
- Administrative Support: Assist with lesson preparation, marking, record‑keeping, and the organisation of classroom materials.
Requirements
- Recognised UK teaching qualifications or overseas equivalent
- Successful experience as a Higher‑Level Teaching Assistant
- Experience as an HLTA and proven success in raising achievement as a subject leader or classroom practitioner.
- The ability to provide references for previous teaching experience in the UK
- Have the right to work within the UK
