Solutions Architect

We’re currently recruiting for an experienced AWS Solutions Architect to join my client on a 12-month PAYE contract, with strong potential for extension. This is a hybrid role requiring 3–4 days per week onsite in Cheltenham.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the design and delivery of cutting‑edge cloud and AI/ML solutions within a complex enterprise environment. You’ll play a key role in shaping architecture, driving innovation, and guiding teams through cloud transformation initiatives.

• Duration: 12 months+
• Location: Cheltenham (Hybrid – 3–4 days onsite)
• Rate: Up to £95 per hour (PAYE)
• Notice Period: 1 month
• Design end-to-end AWS cloud architectures using services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, SageMaker, IAM, and CloudFormation
• Architect AI/ML solutions including pipelines, model training, deployment, and MLOps workflows
• Produce high-quality architectural documentation and design artefacts

Delivery & Implementation

• Oversee implementation of scalable, secure cloud solutions
• Develop proof‑of‑concepts and reference architectures
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate AI capabilities

Technical Leadership

• Provide leadership across cloud, AI/ML, and data engineering domains
• Conduct architecture reviews, risk assessments, and governance
• Mentor engineers, data scientists, and junior architects

Stakeholder Engagement

• Work closely with business and technical stakeholders
• Translate complex technical concepts into business‑friendly language
• Support cloud adoption and AI transformation strategies

Security, Compliance & Optimisation

• Ensure alignment with security standards and governance frameworks
• Implement resilient, high‑availability architectures
• Drive cost optimisation across AWS environments

✅ Required Skills & Experience

• Strong expertise across AWS services and cloud architecture design
• Hands‑on experience with AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit‑Learn)
• Experience with AWS AI/ML services (SageMaker, Bedrock, Comprehend, Rekognition)
• Proven experience with microservices, serverless, containers (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience working in Agile environments

Desirable Certifications

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
• TOGAF or similar
• AI/ML or Data Engineering certifications
