We are recruiting an Interim Repairs Surveyor for a leading Social Housing provider based in Northampton, supporting property services across the local region on a 6-month contract.
As an Interim Repairs Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing and resolving property repair issues across housing stock, ensuring homes are maintained to a high standard, compliant with regulations, and safe for residents. - Rate: £35 £40 per hour (dependent on experience and qualifications)
- Contract: 6-month interim assignment (potential for extension)
- Working pattern: Full-time (3740 hours per week)

Key responsibilities
- Conduct detailed property inspections, including condition surveys and defect diagnosis
- Prepare technical reports and schedules of work
- Manage repair cases from initial inspection through to completion
- Oversee works relating to general repairs, damp, mould, and structural issues
- Prepare specifications and manage contractors to deliver remedial works
- Ensure all works comply with legislation, regulations, and health & safety standards
- Liaise with tenants, contractors, and internal teams
- Monitor progress of works and ensure timely completion
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Support wider property services as required in your role as a Repairs Surveyor
About you
- Proven experience in a similar role within Social Housing or property services
- Strong knowledge of building maintenance and repairs
- Relevant construction qualification (HNC, HND, Degree in Building Surveying or similar)
- Excellent understanding of building pathology, including damp and general defects
- Experience managing contractors and overseeing works
- Strong report writing and organisational skills
- Good understanding of Health & Safety and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload as a Repairs Surveyor
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
