Solutions Architect

Summary

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Solution Architect to lead the modernisation of identity mastering at a major higher education institution. This is a 6‑month contract (IR35: In Scope), offering £550–£650/day (Umbrella) with hybrid working (1–2 days onsite/week – London).

The Challenge

The institution currently uses Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM) and a custom on‑premise solution to consolidate user identities across multiple systems. As part of a strategic move to cloud‑based services and real‑time APIs, we’re redesigning this capability from the ground up.

Responsibilities

• Lead solution design, working closely with the Enterprise Architect and Identity & Access Platform Team to deliver a future‑ready identity mastering platform.
• Appraise options, procure solutions, design architecture and support implementation.
• Run design workshops and present to senior stakeholders.
• Translate technical concepts for non‑specialists and produce clear, formal documentation.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in identity mastering, authentication, and access management.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies: EntraID, Azure AD B2C, Active Directory, MIM.
• Experience with role‑based access control, compliance, and security.
• Background in procurement and enterprise architecture documentation.

Contract Details

• Contract length: 6 months.
• Pay: £550–£650 per day.
