Cover Supervisor

Washwood Heath Academy is looking for a committed, hard‑working and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to support students during periods of short‑term teacher absence.

Responsibilities

• Take sole charge of KS3, KS4 and KS5 classes and deliver lessons as set by the teacher.
• Ensure students are on task and complete the work set.
• Manage behaviour in the classroom to maintain a constructive learning environment.
• Work closely with teaching staff across a wide range of subject areas.
• Supervise students during short‑term absences and liaise with teaching staff to discuss work set.
• Organise the return of completed work and support attached faculties and departments.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a secondary school.
• Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to inspire and encourage others.
• ICT competence.
• GCSE grade C/4 or above in Math and English.
• Organised, adaptable and strong literacy and numeracy skills.
