We are currently looking for a passionate Hotel Host to join the team at Bankside Hotel — voted one of the ‘Best Places to Work in Hospitality’ for three consecutive years. Main Scope and Purpose of the Role

Responsible for providing an authentic and welcoming experience to all guests and visitors in the Front of House area while offering assistance throughout their stay. You will be a local area guru, knowing what is happening at The Tate Modern and the best hidden gems nearby, and the bars & restaurants not to miss. You will also maximise revenue and promotion of the hotel’s outlets where applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the Reception in the absence of senior Front Desk Management.
  • Ensure smooth running of front desk and be familiar with all Reception tasks.
  • Handle Check‑In and Check‑Out procedures to Marriott brand standards.
  • Actively participate in upselling rooms to maximise departmental revenue.
  • Deal efficiently and courteously with any guest enquiries or complaints, ensuring timely follow‑up and guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all areas of the business concerning Hotel and guest matters.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by the General Manager or other management.

Communication

  • Maintain effective communication within the department and keep the Head of Department well informed of any problems or queries.
  • Report issues or complaints to the relevant Head of Department or Duty Manager.
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure good communication and offer support.

Qualifications & Skills Required

  • Proven track record as a receptionist and good knowledge of Opera or similar PMS (beneficial).
  • Good level of English; other languages are an advantage.
  • Microsoft Word and Excel knowledge.
  • Happy, friendly, and approachable personality.
