Wyre Forest District Council,

This new post will play a crucial role in implementing the Pride In Place project in Kidderminster through working with residents, communities and partners taking an asset based community development approach and empowering communities to achieve.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and build upon existing strengths and assets within Wyre Forest communities using an asset based community development approach.
  • Enable people in those communities to work together to build community resilience and develop positive activities for all, including those people who are often marginalised.
  • Act as a catalyst through building relationships that enable people to act together for the common good creating more resilient communities for the longer term.
  • Support the residents and council in delivering the aspirations for Pride In Place project in Birchen Coppice.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a good standard of education including a minimum of five GCSEs (including maths and English grades 4-9) and A levels or equivalent, and a minimum of two years work‑related experience working with residents, community groups and organisations.

You should enjoy working with people, want to support communities to grow and thrive, and be able to work effectively in partnership with other organisations.

You will be required to provide a suitable vehicle for this post.

Physical & Working Conditions

The job may require a moderate amount of physical effort and mobility on a frequent basis.

Flexible approach to working hours, able to work outside normal office hours if necessary, including a requirement to be available for evening meetings.
