This role offers an excellent introduction to Environmental Health with a varied workload including food hygiene inspections, accident investigations, water sampling and infectious disease investigations. No prior Environmental Health experience is required; applicants must demonstrate commitment, enthusiasm and motivation to complete the Level 4 Regulatory Compliance Officer apprenticeship.
You will receive comprehensive on‑the‑job training supported by knowledgeable and experienced team members. Under the supervision of experienced officers, you will gather and analyse intelligence, respond to complaints and enquiries, support regulatory activity, contribute to project work, carry out inspections of businesses, investigate instances of non‑compliance, and provide advice, guidance and support to local businesses.
Applicants must hold GCSEs in English and Mathematics at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C) or an equivalent qualification. A positive attitude, ability to remain calm under pressure and strong communication skills are essential.
