Electrical Technician

Responsibilities

• Fabrication, installation, and documentation of cables, trays, and rack assemblies
• Single-phase, three-phase, high-voltage, and low-voltage electrical circuits
• Preparation, soldering, and termination of wire cable harnesses
• Using blueprints, wiring diagrams, assembly prints, and electronic schematics
• Troubleshooting electrical instrumentation and mechanical equipment and presenting technical solutions to address these issues
• Finding problems using programmable logic controllers (PLC) and communicating with the manufacturing and maintenance team to prevent impact on the equipment
• Programming instrumentation to relay information to a central HMI
• Testing analog inputs and outputs to ensure accurate calibration
• Configuration of equipment using PLC interfaces (GE Fanuc, Allen-Bradley, Siemens)
• Commissioning of special build equipment, electrically and mechanically
• Maintaining the quality of all the products, performing incoming and outgoing quality control tests, inspections, and repair of all plant and field equipment
• Live working at 400V
• Electrical inspection and testing (EIC, EICR and PAT)

Skills

• City And Guilds Level 3 in electrical installations or equivalent
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
• NVQ3 in electrical based units
• City and Guilds 2391 – Electrical testing and inspection
• Passport to safety or equivalent
• Experience in industrial electrical works
• 26 days holiday + Bank Holidays with the option to buy or sell
