Job Overview
Are you a HGV Technician/Mechanic looking for a new exciting role in a growing and expanding business?We are looking for a HGV Technician to join our team in Worksop. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of Tractor units, Rigids, Vans and Trailers .
Salary: £39,277 OTE: £48,000 (OTE based on total average earnings of Technicians in the garage over a 3 month period)
Hours of work: Monday to Friday 6.00am-14.30pm and 10.00am-18.30pm alternating weeks
Responsibilities
- Service, inspection, maintenance and repair of Tractor units, Rigids, Vans and Trailers
- Electrical, electronic, mechanical and hydraulic fault diagnosis, repair and installation
- Overhaul electrical equipment and components
- Setting and operating of machine tools and equipment
- Welding and metal working
- Department of Transport (MOT) testing preparation
- Parts ordering and stores management
- Support team members including Apprentice Technicians as required
- Accurately record time and detail of completed jobs
- Carry out inspection and repair of workshop equipment as directed
Qualifications
- Qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Goods Maintenance or equivalent or proven experience as an HGV Technician or similar role in vehicle maintenance.
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
