Stores & Goods Inwards Specialist (Manufacturing)

Pertemps are working with an established Manufacturing business based in Southampton who are recruiting for a Goods Inwards & Stores Person to join their team. This is a full‑time, permanent position.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unload and inspect incoming deliveries, check quantities, condition and documentation against purchase orders and delivery notes.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and stock checks to maintain accurate inventory records and investigate discrepancies or variances.
• Accurately book in stock, update inventory records and maintain system data to support stock visibility.
• Issue stock, parts and equipment through a controlled process.
• Communicate shortages, damaged goods and delayed deliveries.
• Maintain clean, safe and organised storage areas.

Requirements

• Proven goods inwards / stores experience.
• Experience working in a manufacturing or engineering business.
• Confident Microsoft user.
• Good understanding of components, parts and products.
• Excellent attention to detail.

Position Details

• Starting Salary of £28,000 – £32,000 depending on experience.
• Monday – Friday 9am – 5.30pm.
• 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays (rising up to 25 days with length of service).
