Support Worker/Personal Assistant – Coldingham – 3069

A lovely woman who lives at home with her husband in Coldingham is looking for a PA who can initially support her with up to 3 visits per week, with the possibility of more hours in the future.

She requires minimal support due to a physical disability following a stroke which has left her unable to use her left arm and hand as fully as she would like. She is a very independent lady and manages most tasks, including personal care and light household duties, when she is well. When she is unwell she requires increased support to manage these tasks. Ideally, the role would start with 1 hour of support each morning (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) with the ability to increase hours or days as needed in the future.

Terms:

• Hours per week: 3 hours per week, with possible additional hours in the future.
• Hours of work: 1 hour each morning between 9:30 and 11:30.
• Pay: £14.20 per hour.
• Paid annual leave entitlement of 5.6 weeks pro rata.
• Probationary period of 6 months.
• Requirements: Post subject to satisfactory references and PVG Scheme membership.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

• Provide personalized support with daily living activities to promote the client’s independence, including:
  • Assistance with putting on compression stockings or splints when well.
  • When the client is ill, additional support may be needed to wash, dry, and dress.
• Support light or general household tasks to maintain a safe and comfortable home environment.
• Ensure the client’s safety, comfort, and overall well‑being at all times.
• Build and maintain a positive, respectful, and trusting relationship with the client and her family.
• Uphold confidentiality, professionalism, and high standards of conduct in all aspects of the role.
