Overview

Park Road Junior Infant and Nursery School is an ambitious, inclusive, multi‑cultural and caring school that continues to be graded as “Good” by Ofsted. The Governors, staff and pupils are seeking to appoint an outstanding School Business Manager to join our dedicated team and play a key role in the strategic leadership and day‑to‑day management of the school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the school’s financial, administrative and operational functions, including budgeting, monitoring and reporting.
  • Maintain and improve administrative systems and processes to ensure efficient support for teaching and learning.
  • Provide strategic advice and support to the Headteacher and Governors on business matters.
  • Oversee premises, health and safety, and compliance management.
  • Lead, manage and develop support staff, fostering a positive team culture.
  • Work effectively under pressure, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, monitoring and reporting.
  • Experience of managing administrative systems and processes effectively.
  • Ability to provide strategic advice and support to senior leadership.
  • Experience of premises, health and safety, and compliance management.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership experience with support staff and team culture development.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to supporting the school’s ethos and values.
