Talent STEM are partnering with a highly established manufacturing organisation based in Newcastle who are seeking an Shift Maintenance Electrical Technicianto join their engineering team on a permanent basis.
This opportunity is ideally suited to an experienced Electrical Technician with strong fault-finding and manufacturing maintenance experience who is looking to join one of the region’s true long-term career employers.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on engineering role where you will support the maintenance, reliability and continuous improvement of production machinery and site services within a fast-paced manufacturing environment operating across a 24/7 operation.
Working alongside an experienced engineering team, you will play a key role in ensuring equipment uptime, supporting production and contributing towards ongoing engineering improvements and projects.

Key Responsibilities
– Perform routine and preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment
– Diagnose and repair electrical faults across production machinery and supporting equipment
– Support Siemens PLC fault finding and diagnostics activities
– Work with AC/DC drives and industrial control systems
– Support equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiatives
– Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment
– Maintain accurate maintenance records using a CMMS system
– Support production teams to minimise downtime and improve machine performance
– Ensure all engineering activities are completed in line with health and safety procedures including LOTO and permit-to-work systems
About You
We are looking for a proactive and technically strong Electrical Technician with experience working within manufacturing or process environments.
You will likely bring:
A completed Electrical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent
– HNC in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
– Experience fault finding on Siemens PLC systems
– Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and schematics
– Experience within manufacturing, production or process industries
– Knowledge of drives, control systems and industrial networks such as Profibus or Profinet would be advantageous
– Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team
