Legal Officer

About the Role

You will primarily support the Adults Community Care Team, while also contributing to other areas of the Legal Service, including childcare and litigation. The work is fast‑paced, requiring sound judgement, adaptability, and the ability to respond effectively under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with the courts and parties to the court proceedings.
  • Take minutes, format court statements, assist with the preparation of court bundles and evidence.
  • Attend court if required.

About you

  • At least 2–3 years’ relevant experience as a legal officer, legal secretary or paralegal, or experience within a legal environment.
  • Possess an understanding or interest in social care law.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and drafting skills.
  • Manage competing priorities and work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach.
  • Previous experience of local government is desirable, but not essential.
