A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Birmingham is seeking a dedicated Student Support Assistant to join their team on a long-term basis through an education agency. Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with additional needs
- Assist in managing classroom behaviour and promoting a positive learning atmosphere
- Support students with social, emotional, and mental health needs
- Work closely with teaching staff and the wider pastoral team
- Encourage student independence and engagement in learning
Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working with children or young people (school-based experience desirable)
- Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A genuine passion for supporting student development
- Ability to commit to a long-term placement via an agency
