We are supporting a specialist school in Reading that works with pupils with Autism, SEMH and additional behavioural needs. The school is seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to help students build confidence, manage emotions and engage positively with learning.
This is a hands‑on, rewarding role where no two days are the same, and where you’ll make a genuine difference to young people who benefit from consistent support and positive role models.
The Role
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils
- Support students with emotional regulation and behaviour strategies
- Help pupils remain engaged in learning and daily routines
- Work closely with teachers and pastoral teams
- Support a calm and structured learning environment
- Build positive and trusting relationships with students
We’d Love to Hear From Candidates With Backgrounds In
- Youth work or mentoring
- Care or residential support
- SEMH or behaviour support roles
- Sports coaching / fitness / active roles
- Police, military or security
- Psychology or education graduates
Previous school experience is helpful but not essential — personality, resilience and attitude are key.
