Fire Door Maintenance Operative – Mobile

EQUANS is looking for a Mobile Fire Door Maintenance Operative for its Knowsley School contract in Liverpool. The role is a permanent full‑time position (40 hours per week) and offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspection of fire doors at each site in a timely, efficient and cost‑effective manner.
• Perform maintenance and repairs of fire doors at each site in a timely, efficient and cost‑effective manner.
• Use the Bolster app on the PDA (tablet) to record inspection status.
• Build professional relationships with clients.
• Maintain accurate documentation of completed work.
• Follow procedures to ensure each inspection is completed correctly.
• Keep the company vehicle clean, tidy and presentable.
• Handle tools of various types and ensure safe set up.
• Adhere to safety guidelines whilst on the job site.
• Keep all tools and machinery clean and in good repair.
• Ensure all specifications are met.
• Communicate effectively.
• Liaise and undertake duties at other EQUANS projects as directed by Senior Management.

Qualifications or Required Experience

• Experience of carrying out fire door inspections and maintenance & repairs is essential.
• Recognised fire door inspection qualifications (FDIS, BRE, etc.).
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• Good understanding of health and safety legislation (SMSTS, IOSH or NEBOSH).
• Confident communicator with excellent customer interaction skills.
• Ability to manage and prioritise workload.
• Administrative skills, including use of CAFM system and Microsoft Office applications.
