About the Role
We are looking for experienced Fabricator Welders to join our busy workshop team in Basingstoke. The successful candidates will be involved in the fabrication and welding of structural steel components to high quality standards, working from engineering and isometric drawings.This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing structural steel engineering company with ongoing projects across commercial, industrial, and infrastructure sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Fabricate and assemble structural steelwork and associated components in a workshop environmentCarry out MIG and/or TIG welding to required specifications and quality standardsRead and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, and isometric drawingsMeasure, cut, prepare, and fit steel sections and plate accuratelyOperate workshop machinery and hand tools safely and effectivelyInspect completed work to ensure accuracy and compliance with specificationsWork collaboratively with supervisors, fabricators, and other workshop personnelMaintain high standards of housekeeping and health & safety within the workshop
Requirements
Proven experience as a Fabricator Welder within structural steel or heavy engineeringCompetent in MIG welding and/or TIG weldingStrong fabrication and assembly skillsAbility to read and understand engineering and isometric drawingsExperience working with structural steel sections and componentsGood attention to detail and ability to work to tight tolerancesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamReliable, punctual, and safety conscious
Desirable
Relevant welding or fabrication qualifications/certificationsExperience working to coded welding standardsOverhead crane or forklift experience/certificationPrevious experience within a structural steel workshop environment
