Job Description:

Join us in this role where you’ll be supporting our offshore and onshore substations in the UK East Region and take responsibility for undertaking all manner of maintenance activities on our Transmission assets. This shift‑based role works 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off, primarily offshore with occasional onshore work, reporting directly to the Transmission Manager. The role will be split between SOV/Jack‑up activities during the construction phase and daily helicopter transfers for the operational phase. You will work on six offshore platforms and two onshore substations, maintaining HV, LV and ancillary systems up to 400 kV.

Responsibilities

  • Support third‑party service providers to complete planned preventive maintenance activities.
  • Carry out lifting duties, including crane, hoist and davit operations.
  • Perform general substation duties such as housekeeping and weed killing to keep assets operational.
  • Assist in material and logistics management.
  • Take daily supervisory duties as person in charge of a substation, including toolbox talks, site inductions, musters and drills.
  • Carry out remedial and corrective activities on system defects and support third‑party attendance to resolve issues.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical and/or electrical technical qualification(s) (e.g., time‑served apprenticeship).
  • Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • IOSH Managing Safely or a similar safety qualification.
  • Experience working with operational substations and/or within the offshore wind industry.
  • Capacity to take on increasing levels of responsibility and documented experience with high‑value assets.
