Residential Support Worker – Children’s Residential Care
Location: Derby Area
Salary: £29,620 – £35,320 (DOE) + sleep-ins + bonuses
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
We’re working with a newly established children’s care provider to recruit Residential Support Workers for a home in the Derby area. The Role
As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes, working closely with the wider team to provide consistent and high‑quality care.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting young people in all aspects of their daily lives and development
- Promoting emotional wellbeing, safety and independence
- Contributing to care planning and risk assessments
- Maintaining a safe, clean and structured home environment
- Acting as a positive role model and building trusting relationships
- Ensuring all safeguarding and regulatory requirements are met
- Working closely with colleagues, families and external professionals
- Supporting the home to achieve strong Ofsted outcomes

You Will Have
- A caring and empathetic approach with strong resilience
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- An interest in working with children and young people
- Experience in care or education settings (desirable)
- Willingness to complete a Level 4 qualification
- Flexibility to work shifts including sleep‑ins
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
Salary & Benefits
Band 1
£29,620 – £30,120 basic salary
Performance‑related pay and Ofsted bonuses
Sleep‑in allowance averaging £4,200 per year
Total package up to £34,320
Band 2
£30,620 – £31,120 basic salary
Performance‑related pay and Ofsted bonuses
Sleep‑in allowance averaging £4,200 per year
Total package up to £35,320
