Fabrication Technician, Oadby, Leicestershire
Shift: Rotating 6.00am – 2.00pm and 2.00pm to 10.00pm (Rotating weekly).
Salary: £26,000 – £36,000 per annum (depending on experience, including lates shift allowance).
Job Overview: Working within a small team operating CNC machinery including 3 AXIS CNC Milling Machinery, high speed spindle polishers, single point diamond turning machines and twin lap polishing machines to manufacture a wide range of precision equipment.
Responsibilities
Most duties will be completed independently, adhering to SOPs and work instructions.
Participate in continuous process improvements as a team member or under direct instruction from the Team Leader or Manager.
Consistently demonstrate high levels of efficiency and quality, keeping scrap and rework to a minimum.
Quality
- Competent in using in-process inspection equipment and interpreting data to adjust processes as necessary.
- Consistently achieve low scrap and rework levels.
- Understand relevant standard quality specifications.
- Examine all work before passing it to the next stage, ensuring it meets all requirements and demonstrating good craftsmanship.
Productivity
- Consistently work towards and improve standard manufacturing times.
- Manufacture high specification optics using knowledge of fabrication processes.
- Maintain route cards and relevant paperwork systems.
- Have a good understanding of technical drawings.
- Look for ways to reduce resources usage and waste.
Health & Safety
- Adhere to Health & Safety requirements.
Physical Demands
Assist in general running of the area, including physical activities such as transporting products between departments. Frequent lifting of weights in excess of 5kgs may be required.
Skills Required
- Experience CNC Milling experience.
- Competent user of 3 AXIS (essential); preference given to experience with 4 or 5 AXIS.
- Ability to read Technical Drawings – 3D CAD.
- MS Office skills.
- Team player, flexible to working rotating shifts.
